As of February 2025 we have CEASED OPERATIONS
A Grain of Hope Foundation, Inc.
Thank you all donors and volunteers for nearly 25 years of service.
The Board of Directors for A Grain of Hope Foundation, Inc. has decided to cease operations for this nonprofit.
This non-profit public charity was founded to serve the needs of the world's poor, needy, and underprivileged. We sought to provide for basic necessities such as food and clothing, and assistance to public schoolchildren who lack even the most basic of supplies.
We succeeded in helping the less fortunate by providing school supplies for underprivileged children in the US, our most successful program (ClassZoom). We also helped other NGO/nonprofit charities with their pressing needs to serve the poor.
Unfortunately, we no longer receive the interest we once did. It has always been a core tenet of A Grain of Hope to NOT spend any donor money on advertising and similar expenses; we are very proud that in the nearly 25 years of our operation, 100% of donor funds were spent directly on programs for the needy, none of it for overhead or administrative expenses.
The bad news is that we are at the mercy of search engines such as Google. Over the past five years our Web site visits have gone down sharply, from both donors and from those seeking help (such as teachers with underprivileged students needing assistance). Further, the 2024-2025 political and social climate is such that it seems few people are interested in helping others less fortunate than themselves; on the contrary, the mood among many is let them suffer.
Without both donors and program recipients, our charity lacks a reason to exist.
I will close by saying "thank you" do all who gave of their time and money over the years, and a special thanks to those teachers who took the time to seek our help for their needy students.
A Grain of Hope Foundation has officially ceased existence as of March 6, 2025.
